EcoShield Denver Team Serves Local Recovery Organizations During Shield Day

Denver, CO — Each year, EcoShield Pest Solutions’ Shield Day gives employees across the country an opportunity to step outside their everyday roles and give back to the communities they call home. Through professional services, hands-on volunteer work and simple acts of kindness, EcoShield teams come together to honor the spirit of September 11 by supporting local organizations and making a meaningful difference in the communities where they live and work.

This year, Steve Carr and the EcoShield Denver team spent Shield Day supporting New Hope Sober Living and a local horse therapy ranch that provides support to women in recovery.

New Hope Sober Living provides supportive housing for individuals working toward lasting recovery and a new chapter in their lives. By offering a safe and supportive environment, the organization helps residents navigate recovery while working toward greater stability, independence and a stronger future.

The Denver team had the opportunity to serve five of New Hope’s homes, as well as a local horse therapy ranch that supports women in recovery. Together, the locations provided the team with an opportunity to see firsthand the important work being done within their community and to contribute in a tangible way.

Throughout the day, EcoShield team members provided professional pest control services at each location, helping ensure the homes and facilities remained comfortable, protected and well-maintained. The team also rolled up their sleeves to help with basic chores, maintenance and other projects around the homes and ranch.

“We treated all five homes as well as the horse ranch and helped out with basic chores around the homes and ranch,” said Steve Carr of EcoShield Pest Solutions.

While pest control is at the heart of what EcoShield does every day, Shield Day offers employees an opportunity to use those skills in a different way. By donating their time and expertise, the Denver team was able to support organizations that are focused on helping people create healthier, more stable and positive futures.

For the Denver team, the experience was a reminder that making an impact does not always require a large gesture. Sometimes, meaningful service looks like providing a professional service, completing a much-needed project or simply showing up and lending an extra hand.

The day also reflected the larger purpose behind EcoShield’s annual Shield Day initiative. Each year during the week of September 11, EcoShield teams across the country come together to commemorate the day through service. Rather than simply remembering the events of September 11, Shield Day provides employees with an opportunity to turn that remembrance into action by supporting their neighbors and contributing to the communities around them.

Across the country, EcoShield employees participate in service projects that reflect the needs of their local communities. From helping nonprofit organizations and community groups to providing professional services and tackling hands-on projects, each team finds its own meaningful way to give back.

“A good day was had by all and very much appreciated,” Carr said.

For the Denver team, Shield Day was a rewarding opportunity to spend time with organizations doing important work and to contribute to the people they serve. EcoShield is grateful to New Hope Sober Living and the horse therapy ranch for allowing the team to be part of their work and for the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way.
