At EcoShield Pest Solutions, service means more than eliminating pests or placing bait traps. Across Milwaukee and beyond, EcoShield team members perform acts of service every day that strengthen their communities and care for individuals in need. Few stories illustrate that mission better than one shared by Zachariah Bradburn, a former door-to-door salesman turned Branch Sales Partner, whose recent pest inspection became a powerful moment of compassion for a longtime customer and friend.

A Small Act of Kindness That Built Trust
The story began months earlier during the summer, while Zach was knocking doors in Milwaukee. A brief conversation turned into a meaningful connection when a customer noticed the cross Zach was wearing. What followed was an unexpected discussion about life and faith that laid the foundation for trust between a young EcoShield Pest Solutions representative and a kind elderly woman.
“It was her birthday earlier that week and a lot of her family was in different states, so no one celebrated with her,” Zach shared. “So, I ended up getting her flowers and a card… just something so she felt remembered.”
That simple act of kindness strengthened their relationship and set the stage for what would later become an extraordinary display of service.
Going Above and Beyond for a Milwaukee Customer
Months later, the same customer reached out to EcoShield Pest Solutions for help with a mice problem and specifically requested Zach. When he arrived just before Thanksgiving to conduct the inspection, he quickly realized the issue was more severe than anticipated.
“We discovered a lot of her mice issues up in her attic, but there was also some in her basement, which was more severe than what she told me earlier,” Zach explained. “There was a lot of stuff in her attic out in the open, boxes had been chewed up and there was some mouse waste.”
Zach knew that treatment alone would not fully solve the problem. The attic needed to be organized, and the customer’s belongings needed to be properly sealed and protected. Unfortunately, she was unable to take on the project herself.
“She said, ‘I can’t do that. I’m in a walker, I can’t physically go downstairs or up in the attic,’” Zach recalled.
Without hesitation, Zach stepped in.
“So I did what came naturally to me. I rallied the troops and we figured out a day… a couple guys from the branch came and we were able to finish in about two or three hours.”
Zach coordinated with his EcoShield Pest Solutions Milwaukee coworkers, purchased storage totes, and helped clean and organize the affected areas of the home. He even refused reimbursement for the supplies, calling it an early Thanksgiving gift for his customer and friend.
When asked why he felt compelled to help in such a meaningful way, Zach’s answer was simple: “I just like helping people out. It makes me feel good and she reminds me a lot of my grandma.”
Leadership That Reflects EcoShield Values
What makes this story even more impactful is that Zach never shared it himself. Milwaukee Branch Manager Samuel Ruiz only learned about the situation after the customer called EcoShield Pest Solutions to express her gratitude.
“Had the customer not called in, we wouldn’t have known about this at all,” said Sam. “Zach didn’t take this opportunity to brag and boast, or to get ahead…this is out of the generosity of his heart.”
Samuel emphasized that Zach’s actions reflect the core values EcoShield Pest Solutions strives to instill across all branches.
“My guys absolutely incorporated the golden rule, which is something we try and preach on the daily,” he said. “The kudos goes completely 100% to Zach.”
Zach’s actions also left a lasting impression on his coworkers. Sam added, “He enriched the spirits of his fellow comrades out there, because I promise you that each one of them took something away from that experience.”
More Than Pest Control in Milwaukee
Since transitioning from a door-to-door salesman to a BSP, Zach says his life has changed for the better. He credits the support of his leadership team at EcoShield Pest Solutions Milwaukee and a simple piece of advice that reshaped his outlook.
“The two things that anybody can control on a day-to-day basis is your effort and your attitude,” Zach shared. “I’ve been embodying that image for the last three months now, and it’s totally reshaped my life for the good.”
Stories like this highlight how EcoShield Pest Solutions goes beyond pest control. By supporting customers, strengthening the Milwaukee community, and empowering employees to lead with compassion, EcoShield continues to make a meaningful difference—both inside and outside the workplace.
As Branch Manager Samuel Ruiz summarized it best: “Not only did he make somebody’s holiday a little bit better, he made everyone around him better too.”
