Shield Spotlight Melanie Zeiler: A New Career, A New Challenge, and a Fast Start at EcoShield

Charlotte, NC- The first thing you notice about Melanie Zeiler, recently promoted regular technician at the EcoShield Charlotte branch, is her energy.

Spend five minutes talking with her and you’ll hear words like goals, growth, opportunity, and motivation over and over again. It’s clear she is proactive and energizes the team she works with.

Just a few months ago, Melanie had no experience in pest control. Her background was in logistics and operations, with previous roles at Amazon and FedEx. But despite working hard, she felt like something was missing.

“There was never really any room for growth and opportunity,” Melanie said. “No matter how hard I went, no matter what I tries to learn and to be an asset to the company, it was always reaching just a dead end.”

“When she interviews with EcoShield, she immediately noticed something different. “It was instantly like this feeling of family, this instant feeling of, ‘We’re going to take care of you,’” she said. “I’ve never got that out of any other job I’ve ever been with.”

What followed was a whirlwind start at EcoShield.

After completing training and a handful of ride-alongs, Melanie was eager to get into the field.

“They were confident enough in me to get me out there,” says Melanie. “I was like, ‘Fore sure. Put me to the test. Put me in the game, coach.”

Since then, her growth at the Charlotte branch has surprised even her.

According to Melanie, “It’s just been up and up and up,” she said. “I’ve even been surprising myself with how much I’ve been achieving and actually being able to set goals and see them.”

That focus on goals is a big theme in Melanies personal and professional life. She’s the type of person who measures progress, pushes herself, and encourages others to do the same.

‘Just do it’ is Melanie’s personal motto which is evidenced by her average service time of 50 minutes per property which shows both effectiveness and thoroughness.

Melanie’s positive outlook has made her a positive force on her team, encouraging hard work both in office before the day starts and in work group chats when everyone is in the field working hard.

Charlotte General Manager James Kazarian says Melanie’s enthusiasm extends beyond her own performance. “She participates in building up everybody and getting people motivated to do a little bit more above and beyond stuff,” he said. “She’s a great asset to the company.”

One of the things Melanie is most passionate about is helping newer employees succeed. She regularly connects with teammates, shares what she’s learned, and encouraged people to keep pushing forward.

“If I’ve learned anything to help the next person not make the same mistake and be a little but better than me, I’m all for it,” she said.

Only a few months into her Pest Control career, Melanie has already made a big impact on her branch and her fellow coworkers. She is excited to grow in the company and bring some more light to EcoShield Pest Solutions.
